And in the next few weeks you’ll be able to find more information, faster and easier, when the Marketing and Communication team completes a “refresh” of the site. The upgrade reflects the organization’s evolving culture and brand.
“Since we pivoted to working from home nearly a year ago, SWHR employees have been looking online for more and more trustworthy information,” said Chief Communications Officer Greg Harrison.
“As many as half of our employees tune in like clockwork to hear Andy’s weekly virtual huddles. We have seen traffic to our intranet increase seven-fold and sessions lasting longer in the last months. We’ve added hundreds of pages of content. Employees want more resources to do their jobs. That will likely continue when we move to the new headquarters.”
Refreshing the site means making news, announcements and links to department pages easier to locate. The refresh is only the first step in improving SWHR’s overall online presence — not only for employees but for physicians and external users too.
Marketing and Communications spent the past few months meeting with SWHR leaders, employees and physician partners to gain a better understanding of the online resources people want in order to increase collaboration, engagement, productivity and communication.
As a result, the current intranet will be replaced by a “digital workplace” when we move to our new headquarters. The digital workplace will provide employees a single go-to platform that provides resources and tools needed to make their jobs easier to do from the office or home.
The team also is rebuilding SWHR’s public website — www.southwesternhealth.org — and creating a password-protected physician portal that provides physicians and their staffs secured access to materials and applications that will simplify their ability to provide care for their patients and add value to their practices.
All three of these websites are scheduled to launch in 2021.
